Camphill Village Minnesota Inc

Camphill Village Minnesota is a non-profit organization and intentional community in the heart of Minnesota. Our mission is to create and sustain a community where people with and without disabilities live, work and care for each other to foster social, cultural and agricultural renewal. Camphill Village Minnesota is part of a worldwide movement of over 100 other Camphill communities that support and include people of different abilities.

Located on 525 organically-grown acres, volunteers live family-style with adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and everyone works together to sustain the community. We grow a large variety of produce on 2 acres of biodynamic gardens. The harvest is frozen, canned, pickled, or dried in our commercial processing kitchen and enjoyed year-round. On the biodynamic farm, we raise dairy and beef cows, laying hens, and the food that sustains them. In the herb garden, we grow herbs for teas, biodynamic preps and also make goods to share with the village. In the apple orchards and fruit patches, we produce fruits to eat fresh and preserve. In our commercial bakery, we make bread and granola for our village and cookies that are sold at local coops. We have a variety of craft studios such as a weavery, woodshop, culture and movement group, and arts which provide meaningful activities for everyone in the village.

Each year live-in volunteers from around the world join us as individuals, couples or bring their families. Ideally, volunteers will commit to one service year with the option to stay open-endedly. 

At CVM we focus on capabilities, not disabilities. Everyone has space to learn new trades, practice skills, and teach others what they know. What will you bring to the table?
