EDP (Educational Development Projects) Trust

EDP Trust is a small UK charity set up in 2009, whose sole project has been the construction and subsequent running of a fee-free secondary school in Awutu-Bereku, an impoverished area of Southern Ghana, around 50 miles west if the capital Accra. Awutu-Winton Senior High School (AWSHS) aims to provide high quality and free senior secondary education to the neediest youth in the local communities.  Our students come from very poor backgrounds but are bright, keen, and desperate to improve their life chances. We believe that education is the only route out of poverty and despair, and is the gift that no child in our world should be denied. AWSHS is, to our knowledge, the only fee-free Secondary High School in the whole of Southern Ghana.
