  • About Us

The University of Washington (UW) is proud to be one of the nation’s premier educational and research institutions. Our people are the most important asset in our pursuit of achieving excellence in education, research, and community service. Our staff not only enjoys outstanding benefits and professional growth opportunities, but also an environment noted for diversity, community involvement, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits, and natural beauty. The UW Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship, currently ranked #19 in US News and World Report’s ranking of entrepreneurship and #12 in Entrepreneur Magazine's ranking, offers programs, curricula, and real-world experiences that give entrepreneurial students the knowledge and the hands-on experience they need. And entrepreneurship is on the rise. Many students (both business and nonbusiness undergraduates and graduate students) now see entrepreneurship as their career path. Those who participate in the Buerk Center's programs--like the Alaska Airlines Environmental Innovation Challenge, the UW Business Plan Competition, the Jones + Foster Accelerator, or the new Health Innovation Challenge--go on to start successful ventures.
