About Us
The
Duke of Edinburgh’s New York Metropolitan Area International Award is a
USA expansion of the world’s leading youth development award program
-- youth led, adult guided, achievement oriented program, which brings
together -- project and outdoor based learning with adventure education
and life skills. This program is designed to create committed,
productive global citizens -- equipping purpose driven young people for
life. Since its founding in the UK by HRH The Duke
of Edinburgh in 1956, over eight million people have participated in the
Award in over 140 countries and territories.
Our mission is for every
young person in the NYMA region aged 14 to 24 to have access and
opportunity to participate in the Award.
