    Who we are: ISLA is a Latina-led nonprofit in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, offering Spanish immersion educational programs to open doors and build confidence for Latino youth, connect diverse communities and reframe bicultural identity and Spanish literacy as assets for future academic and career pursuits.

    Our impact: Since 2012 when ISLA began with 12 elementary-age heritage language students in Chapel Hill, the organization has grown into multiple programs and projects serving more than 450 children and 70 adults from six North Carolina counties.
