YWCA Olympia is a non-profit, multi-service organization that has served girls, women and their families in the South Sound since 1945. The agency has worked tirelessly to change history—from civil rights to women’s rights, from advocacy for women’s health care to an end to violence against women and girls. While the YWCA USA and its affiliates across the country are all united under the broad mission of eliminating racism and empowering women, YWCA Olympia’s local mission is to eliminate racism and sexism to advance the social, political and economic status of all women and girls.
We accomplish this by providing direct service to individuals, educating the community on relevant issues, and conducting advocacy to promote systemic change. All YWCA Olympia activities are aligned with our three strategic platform areas: economic advancement, health and safety, and racial justice.
Within these three platforms, we currently operate eight programs, serving more than 14,000 people annually.
Girls Council gender-responsive navigation, case management, and community engagement for adolescent girls and young womxn* who have experienced trauma, those who are juvenile justice involved, and those who are at risk of system involvement

* YWCA is using the “label” womxn to encompass a broader range of identities than woman. YWCA Olympia programs welcome women, girls, Two-Spirit, gender non-binary, and queer folks who are compelled to participate in a femme centered space.
