About Us

Ballet Hispanico of New York was founded by Tina Ramirez in 1970 to explore, preserve, and celebrate Latino culture through dance. Headquartered in its own facility renovated especially for dance, Ballet Hispanico includes a professional Company which holds an annual season in New York City and tours nationally and internationally; a School of Dance unique in its emphasis on ballet, contemporary, and Spanish dance as its core curriculum; and extensive Education and Outreach programming for public schools, both in New York and around the country. In August 2009, Eduardo Vilaro assumed the role of Artistic Director and, with this transition in leadership, the institution is strongly positioned for an exciting future. For further information:
