The Wander Foundation

  • About Us

The Wander Foundation is an organization awaiting 501(c)(3) status that is dedicated to transforming the lives of youth, creating connections across cultures, and interrupting Westernized histories through travel and education.

We were born from a love of travel, a desire to better the world, and a calling to help young people. Through their work with Practical Wanderlust, our founders understand that travel can be used for positive social impact and individual growth. That is the journey we want young people to take. Travel is often thought of as a privilege only a select group can afford, and while this can be true, it is not necessarily absolute. As an organization, we are committed to this purpose through three main outcomes:

    1. TWF will partner with at least one under-resourced school and provide 100% of funding and itinerary planning for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to destinations in South, Central, and North America.
    2. In addition to our school partners, we will team up with local and indigenous tour operators and hospitality experts in our destination cities so we can help support the local economy, uplift BIPOC community members, and allow the stories of destinations to be told by the voices of their people.
    3. Our education team will work closely with teachers and our community partners to design a rigorous and culturally responsive curriculum to deepen the knowledge our young people take with them for the rest of their life.
