About Us

Brooklyn Ecopolis is a non-profit (501c3), community-based, education and resource center located in a newly constructed sustainable building at 180 Smith Street on the corner of Warren Street in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn.

The mission of Brooklyn Ecopolis is to promote access to information, resources, and events on sustainable products, materials, programs and innovations for the general public and building industry.

Brooklyn Ecopolis will include a showroom and learning center featuring exhibition space for sustainable products and technologies; a resource library with information on locally available materials; and an easily accessible location to host educational and other networking events.

Brooklyn Ecopolis will be open to local residents, building professionals, and the general public—anyone with an interest in building a sustainable urban community.

The public spaces of the building will incorporate art installations, exhibits and a variety of visual art by the local creative community to provoke thinking, inspire action and promote a social dialogue on opportunities to enhance sustainable living.
