About Us

Worldbike is a non-profit bike company for the developing world, powering health and sustainable economic development in regions considered undesirable to most established bike companies. Our mission is to improve human livelihoods using bicycles to create sustainable income generating opportunities and advance access to healthcare in regions where disease is a powerful barrier to development.

What makes us different is our focus on the “customer” – small business owners and healthcare workers whose lives or work can be transformed with a simple, cost-efficient product: the bicycle. At Worldbike, the needs of our developing world customer guide everything we do, from how we design a bike to our on-the-ground approach to sales and support.

As a non-profit, we focus exclusively on human development in regions like Africa, where hurdles are high and margins are low. Worldbike has worked in Cuba, Nicaragua, Senegal and South Africa and are currently working in partnership with UN-Habitat in Kibera, the second largest slum in Africa.
