About the Business Council for Peace (Bpeace)

The Business Council for Peace (Bpeace) is an award-winning nonprofit working in crisis-affected communities to grow small businesses, create significant employment for all, and expand the economic power of women. More jobs mean less violence.^®

We deliver high-quality business consulting through volunteer business experts we call “Skillanthropists,” to carefully vetted small businesses we call “Fast Runners.”

Together we are in pursuit of a common vision: that employment is the bridge to education, poverty reduction, improved health and ultimately less violence; and that jobs for women are vital to women’s advancement and to elevating their peaceful influence on society. 

In 2021, Bpeace Skillanthropists are working with 100+ small-business owners in the U.S., El Salvador, Guatemala and Afghanistan. More than 20,000 family members depend on the jobs these Fast Runners provide.

In 2020, Bpeace provided $2.1 million in pro bono consulting services to 61 businesses that in turn generated $173 million in revenue, provided over 5,000 jobs and supported more than 20,000 family members. More than 60% of these businesses are women-owned or led. 

We rigorously measure our impact and over the years have advised nearly 300 small businesses across eight countries, and the majority of the Fast Runners that Bpeace Skillanthropists worked with grew revenue and jobs better than their country’s local economy!

According to our most recent impact analysis, the Fast Runner businesses in our portfolio grew revenue by 13% and jobs by 17% since joining the Bpeace program.

Bpeace has operated since 2002, we are proud to consistently earn 5 stars on GreatNonprofits. We maintain a stellar reputation among our donors and partners, both corporate and nonprofit. We have a talented and motivated staff, an engaged Board of Directors and 350+ Skillanthropists from 14 countries.

 We operate remotely with no fixed physical headquarters office space.
