About Us

Society for Economic Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development (SEEED) was established in 2014, under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 1990, CAP 59, with Corporate Affairs Commission in Federation Laws of Nigeria and currently in Consultative Status with United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) . The Society is exclusively committed to advancement and promotion of entrepreneurship, stimulating dialogue and cooperation on global development issues, enhancing skills, knowledge and understanding among practitioners in entrepreneurship, and providing a network for organizations and individuals in all sectors for economic development and empowerment; and a mission of advancement and promotion of economic activities for total well-being, gearing towards recognition as an institution for development and empowerment of entrepreneurs and leaders with dynamic and innovative tools to driving national and global realization.

Over the years, SEEED has consistently been at the forefront of shaping the theory and practice of entrepreneurship, challenging existing practices and suggesting alternative approaches hence the slogan “Thinking Differently, Changing Lives!” Today, SEEED’s programme of work reflects the increasing concern of entrepreneurship as means for achieving a sustainable development in any economy, particularly achieving the overall UN 2030 Agenda. Accordingly, the Society’s focus has been on how to advance economic development through the vehicles of entrepreneurship and leadership in a climate that is increasingly conservative and inward looking. The Society has consistently anchored the publication of Journal of Economic Research and Entrepreneurship Development (JERED). ISSN: 2449 – 0962

SEEED has a strong and vibrant network of individual and institutional members, chapters and partner organizations, with the anticipation of spreading our philosophy, slogan, campaign and establishing it in every other part of the world, involving associations and institutions such as academia, parliamentarians, political leaders, development experts, and students both at local and international levels.
