  • About Us

IZUMI Foundation gives assistance to the world’s poorest people by supporting programs that improve health in developing countries. Created in 1998 by the Japanese lay Buddhist order Shinnyo-en, the Foundation expresses Shinnyo-en’s values of compassion, concern for others, and altruism. We look for promising, practical programs that reduce the burden of disease and strengthen a community’s ability to keep children and families healthy. IZUMI Foundation partners with organizations that improve the health outcomes of people living in the most neglected areas of Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
