    About Us

The Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI) provides a 2-year residency for aspiring elementary school teachers to earn a CA teaching credential and master's degree. Our Learn By Doing model allows residents to balance theory and practice by engaging in dynamic, research-based instruction from current and former teachers in the evening then implementing those skills in their own classroom the very next day. Over 75% of BATTI residents are still teaching after 5 years, which is 25% higher than the national average. We partner with over 65 schools across the Bay and have graduated over 500 teachers in our 20 years of service.
