About Us

Pie Ranch is a thriving, sustainable farm and unique food system education and advocacy non-profit organization. We bring together urban and rural citizens to promote sustainable farming, create a healthier food system, cultivate young leaders, and protect our natural heritage. Our home is a 14-acre working farmstead, shaped like a piece of pie, on the Pacific coast of San Mateo County, near Pescadero, California. Our mission is to inspire and create a new generation of farmers, educators, entrepreneurs and advocates with the knowledge and the skills to work together to build a healthy, sustainable and inclusive food system. Pie Ranch offers education programs for youth in collaboration with urban and rural schools and organizations in the Bay Area. We also host young apprentice farmers, who learn sustainable farming techniques from mentors. Finally, Pie Ranch collaborates with other community advocates to develop and model positive change in our regional food system.
