Affordable Group Services

Founded in 2003, Affordable Group Services, LLC (AGS) has evolved from a single transitional house for men to a comprehensive provider of Training, Housing and Employment services to individuals, wherever they are on the addiction recovery continuum. With it’s headquarters in Chicago, AGS provides a range of programs and services with a mission focus of bringing hope, change, and improvement to individual lives, families and communities.

AGS neighborhood stabilization efforts focus on residential property improvement opportunities. Targeted neighborhoods are in low to moderate income communities; homes identified for improvement include foreclosed and abandoned single family homes; 3 to 7 bedroom homes and 2 flats that can be converted into single family homes.

The AGS mission is to impact lives in ways that will restore hope to people and bring lasting change to the community. Affordable desires to empower humans to rise above their circumstances, get involved and take initiative in their own healing and self-improvement process. AGS offers guidance, discipline and direction to help individuals and their communities reach their full potential.

Affordable Group Services recovery focused mission is based on a strategic foundation of vocational training, immediate employment, recovery housing, and long-term job placement. Its neighborhood stabilization efforts are built upon Affordable’s own construction and restoration company, its own housing placement and its home equity development programs.

The fundamental strategy and underlying mission of Affordable Group Services is to establish a safe haven for people who want to recover from drug and alcohol addiction. AGS creates opportunities for them to overcome their addictions, develop valuable vocational skills, secure employment, build strong relationships, and re-enter society in a productive, clean and sober fashion.

Since its inception, AGS has been successful in assisting numerous participants to recover from their addiction, learn a skilled trade, and secure employment. AGS has helped over 200 participants per year since the company was formed. 75% of AGS participants who have completed its programs have obtained employment, are reunited with their family, and have maintained sobriety.
