L'Arche St. Louis
L'Arche (French for "the Ark") are communities of people with and without intellectual disabilities, as members of an international Federation.
In June 2011, L'Arche St. Louis opened its first home as the 17th L'Arche community in the USA.
We are an expansive network of people, including community members sharing life in the home in Maplewood, dedicated board and committee members, and the many friends and supporters who make this community a reality.
As a L'Arche community, we aim "to offer not a solution, but a sign, a sign that a society, to be truly humanMutual relationships and trust in God are at the heart of our journey together. We celebrate the unique value of every person and recognize our need of one another. the mission of L'Arche is to:
- Make known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities, revealed through mutually transforming relationship.
- Engage in our diverse cultures, working together toward a more human society.
