  • About Us

The Collaborative for Spirituality in Education (CSE) is a not-for-profit launched by Professor Lisa Miller from Columbia University’s Teachers College. The organization is focused on education for a democratic and ecological society.  The CSE team works with schools of all kinds to help them create and implement rigorously tested Pre-K-12 education programs and curricula to support spiritual and moral growth. CSE's programs are guided by science-based, developmental psychology and founded on the idea that the spirit of respectful, free, and open communication is fundamental to the democratic way of life and the non-violent management of differences and conflicts. CSE believes that schools have a responsibility to create a learning environment that instills this spirit and teaches the art of constructive dialogue.
