About Us

The Resource Innovation Group (TRIG) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1996. TRIG's mission is to foster the development and application of innovative thinking and approaches to the complex causes and solutions to social-ecological problems, including climate change. Our approach is grounded in the integration of whole systems thinking with the physical and social sciences, social equity, and change management. TRIG works through partnerships with academic institutions, non-profits, private firms, and all levels of government to accomplish its goals. TRIG is affiliated with the Sustainability Institute at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. From 2002 through 2010 TRIG was affiliated with the Institute for a Sustainable Environment at the University of Oregon. Prior to that TRIG was affiliated with the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government at Portland State University.
