Innovation Fellows are big thinkers interested in international development and the challenges facing some of the world’s poorest countries. The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Arizona State University (ASU) and the New America Foundation (NAF) invite applicants with technical expertise in social and physical sciences, supply chain or other business management, medicine, engineering and other relevant disciplines to apply to the Innovation Fellowship. Fellows will be placed throughout MCC operations to advance the application of science, technology and related expertise in international development and the foreign affairs activities of the U.S. Government.
On January 23, 2004, the U.S. Congress established the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). MCC, a U.S. Government Corporation, is based on the principle that aid is most effective in countries that promote good governance, economic freedom, and investments in people.
MCC provides these well-performing countries with large-scale grants to fund country-led solutions for reducing poverty through sustainable economic growth.
Countries self-identify their own challenges to overcoming poverty and design their own development strategies with the objectives of creating growth opportunities, opening markets, raising the standard of living, and creating a more prosperous future for some of the world’s poorest people, accordingly improving global prosperity and security.
Arizona State University has developed a new model for the American Research University, creating an institution that is committed to excellence, access and impact. ASU measures itself by those it includes, not by those it excludes. ASU pursues research that contributes to the public good, and ASU assumes major responsibility for the economic, social and cultural vitality of the communities that surround it.
The New America Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy institute that invests in new thinkers and new ideas to address the next generation of challenges facing the U.S. New America emphasizes work that is responsive to the changing conditions and challenges of our information-age economy -- an era shaped by transforming innovation and wealth creation, but also by shortened job tenures, longer life spans, mobile capital, financial imbalances and rising inequality.
