The United Board of Missions is a local crisis intervention and family assistance organization. A coalition of Mid and South Jefferson County churches and volunteers motivated by the love of God to meet human needs and help them re-establish themselves in life.

    About Us

Formerly the Center for Christian Services, the United Board of Missions (UBM) of Port Arthur, Texas began as a small outreach in the mid 1960's with the intention of acting against the effects of poverty in Jefferson County, becoming an official entity in 1969. UBM began as a small group of Christians working out of a house and has since grown into a significant non-profit organization, serving thousands in and around Jefferson County. UBM has grown to include eight different programs to support families and individuals, and continues to expand, including a partnership with the Y to provide after-hours childcare for parents who work outside standard hours. Our programs include, but are not limited to, Meals on Wheels (serving meals to seniors and homebound individuals in our communities), In-House Food Pantry (food assistance for individuals and families who need help getting groceries), and Emergency Services (assisting individuals with utility bill support). There are serving opportunities for many different callings and strengths. Volunteers play a vital role in our mission, and there are countless ways to lend a helping hand, whether through meal deliveries, food distribution, or community outreach.
