Girls on the Run of Southern Idaho

  • Mission

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

    About Us

Girls on the Run of the Wood River Valley is a 10-week, after school program for 3rd to 5th grade girls. Offered each Fall and Spring, the character-building program meets twice a week and uses the power of running to strengthen the way girls see themselves and their opportunities. Volunteers mentor the girls through an organized curriculum of lessons, discussions, and workouts that empower girls with a sense of identity and stronger belief in themselves to help them become strong, self-confident young women. The program culminates in a 5k celebration and includes participation in a community service project. Volunteers do not need to be runners, but must believe and live a life of healthy living and are committed to improving the lives of girls.
