  • Mission

To provide adults who want to improve their reading with free, confidential, one-to-one coaching, enabling them to gain the literacy skills needed to reach their full potential and live life to the fullest.

    About Us

Read Easy Dudley District was formed in 2022.

We offer free, confidential, 1-1 coaching to any adult within the Dudley District who would like to improve their literacy skills.

We receive referrals from health professionals, support groups, government agencies, family members and future readers themselves.

We currently have 15 active reading coaches paired with readers and 4 Management Team members who are responsible for the 'behind the scenes' support of the group - e.g. recruitment, financial administration, fundraising, safeguarding, IT Support and publicity.

We are responsible for raising all funds required for the group to provide our service and all of the people working in our group are unpaid volunteers.

We have a waiting list for new readers and so are actively recruiting new reading coaches to fulfill that need. We would like to get to a position whereby new readers can start their reading journey with us, without having to wait to be paired with a coach.

We also are seeking to strengthen our management team by recruiting additional members.

The Read Easy Dudley District group are proud to have 5 readers who have completed the program and have benefited from this in relation to employment, increased confidence and independence, and also being able to enjoy reading as a past time and sharing books with loved loved ones.
