Friends of WC Wetzel State Park

To promote the resources and outdoor experiences that Wetzel offers, for all citizens to enjoy; To preserve those resources and experiences for our children to enjoy.

Friends of WC Wetzel State Park is a 501c3 non-profit working as an extenison of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Division, to preserve, promote and protect Wetzel State Recreation Area (formerly WC Wetzel State Park) in Macomb County Michigan. We are actively engaged with the State on numerous maintenance and planning activities for Wetzal SRA. We organize and provide volunteers for an annual cleanup, invasive specie management and various maintenance issues around the park. We currently plan, schedule, host and pay for two school field trips and one to three scout field trips per year.
