  • Mission

    The Louisiana Center for Health Equity represents the interest of health equity by promoting the elimination of health disparities caused by poverty, lack of access to quality health care and other social conditions with a focus on community health and wellness.

    About Us

    The goals of the Louisiana Center for Health Equity are to:

    1. Serve as a catalyst for raising awareness and addressing health disparities through multi-sector collaboration with academia, private and non-profit organizations, health care organizations, government entities, and others.

    2. Engage targeted communities in efforts to mobilize, initiate, and pursue promising approaches for improving community health and environmental conditions affecting the health of population groups more vulnerable for health disparities.

    3. Promote evidenced-based practices and state and local policy initiatives for improving the health outcomes of Louisiana residents.
