Free Rein Center for Therapeutic Riding and Education

  • About Us

Free Rein Center’s Mission is to serve the community by strengthening the spirits, minds and bodies of children and adults through interaction with horses. We utilize the human-horse connection as the therapeutic agent in helping individuals & diverse groups, from children to senior citizens.

The therapeutic benefits of structured interaction with a horse are recognized by many in the medical professions. Individuals with developmental, cognitive, emotional, physical, and other challenges can grow in self-esteem, confidence, self-awareness, and communication skills. Those with physical disabilities can achieve improved balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility.

    Therapeutic riding is beneficial for:

    - ADD or other Hyperactivity Disorder

    - At-risk youth & emotional and behavioral difficulties

    - Autism spectrum disorder

    - Cerebral palsy & muscular dystrophy

    - Down syndrome

    - Family & grief counseling

    - Learning disabilities

    - Multiple sclerosis

    - Strokes & traumatic brain injuries

    - Visual and auditory impairment

Since our start in 2000, Free Rein Center has been dedicated to the principle that all of us, whatever our abilities, are capable of more than we may think we are. Our carefully chosen, specially trained instructors maintain their professional certifications from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.).

Free Rein Center’s vibrant, growing programs are successful because of our hard-working staff and dedicated volunteers. We depend heavily on the generosity of our supportive donors.

Free Rein Center - where "Horses Helping Humans Heal" isn't just a tagline - it's what we do.
