Cleveland Roots

About Us

Cleveland Roots creates opportunities for urban agriculture and educational programs that empower people to grow their own produce. Our goals are to provide affordable access to fresh produce, promote healthy living, nurture the environment, and cultivate community.

We serve individuals in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood on the near West side of Cleveland as well as our neighbors in the Greater Cleveland community through several programs. These include our Cleveland Roots Community Garden, our Food & Garden Series, our Kids' Food & Garden (& Art!) Series, and our Gardening 101 classes (new in 2019). We also host classes by local gardening and environmental experts.

Cleveland Roots operates out of the former Berghaus Flowers greenhouses in Cleveland, a facility that served the neighborhood for 126 years, and out of our 17-acre historic farm in Richfield Township (about 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland). We grow produce at both locations to bring to our corner Market in the city, where we provide fresh, affordable produce for the community.
