Music Medicine Institute

Music Medicine Institute (MMI) was founded in 1996 and first recognized by the IRS as a registered 501(c)(3) in 1997. Music Medicine Institute is a local, Savannah, Georgia, nonprofit music therapy organization established by Dr. Elizabeth Jacobi. We provide music therapy to the community regardless of race, color, disability, religion, sex, national origin, age, or financial status. MMI works with clients to achieve improved quality of life based on individual goals established and guided by a board certified and licensed music therapist. Music therapy maintains, improves and restores physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being to those with acute and chronic illnesses. Since 1996, we have served 100’s of people, mainly focusing on programs with children. We are now expanding into more programs for the community.
