  • About Us

ARISE (A Resource In Serving Equality) is an organization of women engaged in leadership development and community-building in three neighborhoods in South Texas. Built by the women who reside in the neighborhoods, this grassroots network of community centers combines direct responses to each group’s request for personal skill development with larger community and movement building efforts that transcend neighborhood boundaries. ARISE focuses itself on a consistent program of personal development together with training in leadership and community organizing for women who are immigrants to the U.S.A. This, in turn, develops their capacity to be leaders and organizers.
