Grace United Methodist Church

Our purpose of Grace United Methodist Church is to make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. So how do we accomplish that purpose for the next generation and their families? By creating opportunities that allow us to outreach to our community and support families through faith development and learning enrichment within in a safe, exciting, and engaging environment.

One of the biggest stressors for parents is summer break, "What do we do with our children?" How can we afford all these different camps that are not even time accommodating to our working schedule? Not only are we facing financial difficulties, time restraints, but majority of the summer camps do not allow for learning enrichment such as a reading, science, and math throughout the summer so that children do not regress. We are also faced with very little faith development besides our one-week Vacation Bible School in which most churches are offering the same themed camp.

Not only are we desiring to create an experience for elementary aged children, but we want to begin fostering leadership development within our youth. We would recruit, train, and lead youth to become camp counselors who will take the initiative to lead our young campers daily. This position will offer a weekly stipend and community volunteer hours for college applications.

Grace UMC would like to take a stressful situation and create a whole family solution so that parents can continue to work throughout the summer knowing their children are receiving adequate care, love, learning, faith, and a whole lot of fun!
