    The Monroe County Historical Association is a cultural and learning center that assists our diverse community of residents and visitors in connecting the county’s past with the present.

    About Us

    Founded in 1921, t­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­he Monroe County Historical Association (MCHA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving the rich history of Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The MCHA is headquartered in the historic 1795 Stroud Mansion which is located at the corner of Main and 9th Streets in downtown Stroudsburg. The organization is the official county historical entity and the building serves as a local history museum and a genealogical/research library. Numerous fund-raisers, workshops, events and programs are held throughout the year to raise awareness about the importance of local history.
