About Us

Operated by Human Services, Inc. Horizon House is the only homeless shelter in this community. We are both a shelter and a self-sufficiency program for homeless families. Our program is designed to help families get back on their feet after suffering hardships such as eviction, domestic violence, or temporary loss of income. We provide classes in nutrition, budgeting and parenting skills as well as other subjects as needed on an individualized basis.

Whether it be office work, maintenance work, or tutoring and education, there is something for every kind of volunteer. If you're looking for a long-term commitment or a one-time event, we are happy to work with your schedule.

Our mission is to provide a safe and caring learning environment for children and parents in need of shelter. Our team of professionals works with families to allow them to learn and develop the skills necessary to maintain long term self-sufficiency.
