About Us
Western Wellness Foundation is the parent organization of the Best Friends Mentoring Program, a service that matches volunteer mentors with at-risk youth ages 6-16. Volunteers are carefully screened through law enforcement and social services background checks, reference checks, and in-person interviews. Volunteers will attend an orientation session and will be matched one-to-one with a child who needs positive adult friendship. Volunteers meet with the child at least one hour each week, or 4-6 hours per month, for a minimum of one year. Volunteers may meet with their mentee either over lunch at the youth's school or outside of the school setting. Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old and a junior in high school.
The program also needs volunteers who can assist the program at a variety of fundraising events, such as a golf scramble, youth carinvals, bake sales and photos of youth visiting Santa Claus.
