The Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation was established in 1973 to advance athletic, academic and character development of young athletes in the Flathead Valley by supporting youth outdoor winter recreation, skiing and competitive ski racing.
Forty-five years and hundreds of young student-athletes later, FVSEF is still operating in much the same way. Year-in and year-out, young valley residents are not only learning life-long skiing skills, they are learning about goal setting, sportsmanship, teamwork, community involvement and love and respect for the outdoors in winter. In our 46-year history, nearly 480 families have participated and over 900 young student athletes have benefitted from the life lessons learned and the focus and personal discipline required. Annual participation has grown from 22 athletes in 1973 to over 100 in 2019. From Olympic champions like Tommy Moe (Gold and Silver Medal winner in 1994) to youngsters who joined for just a year or two, countless youths and their families have seen life-long benefits from participation in FVSEF programs.
Our committed volunteer network provides outstanding support for our programs through organizational and fundraising assistance to provide those programs with state-of-the-art equipment, superior professional staffing and scholarship assistance for deserving athletes.
