AZERC is a nonprofit agency providing training programs for middle and high school youth and low-income American’s in the Greater Reno area. The program will form partnerships with local school districts, the juvenile court system and the Nevada Employment Agency. AZERC’s goal is to foster a commitment to our clients that will promote strong technology skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future.
Through repeated failures in life and the development of destructive habits, our clients have lost faith in the possibilities that await them if they are successful in putting their lives together. To accomplish this goal, our clients must be in a caring, inclusive learning environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect.
AZERC is a program that is in direct response to the growing number of people that are either falling through the cracks or are already entangled with the court system. The goal of AZERC’s youth program is to identify youths who are going to have a turbulent transition to adulthood and offer positive support system to avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives. The focus is slightly different at each level but the goal remains the same; empower the young person to make positive changes in his/her life through technology knowledge. The goal of AZERC’s adult program is to give the knowledge of computers and software clients need to be productive technology users.
Both the adult and youth programs also offer the client training in computer tech support, computer repair and refurbishing. Once the client is trained and certified, they will be getting hands on training through our mobile tech support and in house repair services.
AZERC offer certifications in use of office suite software for use in gaining employment.
Over time, AZERC will create a learning environment that will be an invaluable resource to our clients, aspiring them and the community at large.
