Basic Kindness

Basic Kindness creates awareness about food and housing insecurity by providing people with opportunities to commit acts of kindness. Basic Kindness builds care packages for people living without shelter. We bring the care packages to local concerts and events. At the end of the show people can take a free bag so they have something to share the next time they meet someone asking for help. We also host bag building events and create opportunities for food and housing security fighters to learn and collaborate. Most recently we expanded our programs to work towards sustainability in food and housing security, specifically expanding to the Nevis, West Indies. The Basic Kindness Nevis Summer Academy will offer professional development for teachers through instructional coaching, workshops, and team teaching while also providing inclusive, educational opportunities for students that will preserve culture, protect the environment, prevent poverty, and empower with positivity to promote long term resilience and sustainability.
