Community Passageways is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in Seattle, WA with a vision for zero youth incarceration. Our unique, community centered model provides an alternative to the current criminal justice system. We focus on these areas:
Prevention - show youth new paths to follow. We perform various street outreach activities for community youth, a summer education program, and healing/peacemaking circles.
Diversion - keep youth out of the prison system. We work with city and county agencies to place youth in a 3-12 month diversion program instead of a prison cell. We serve as mentors and court advocates for youth and teach them leadership development.
Re-entry - support youth as they transition back into the community. We partner with other community organizations to help with basic needs, life skills, education, employment, religious/spiritual needs, health/wellness.
