  • About Us

The mission of the Inland Empire Black Worker Center (IEBWC) is to build a Black worker-led movement that successfully organizes for quality jobs, economic and social mobility, and advocates for policies through cultural practices that ensure Black workers, their families, and the community thrives. The IEBWC, anchored by a working board and supported by nearly a dozen Black-led and Black-empowering community-based organizations and unions, opened in 2021. It becomes the third Black worker Center in California. Through organizing, advocacy and service provision the organization works toward reducing unemployment, building pathways to quality careers, and shifting the narrative of anti-Blackness into Black stories of workplace success, leadership and collective strength. Currently, in its emerging phase, the IEBWC is fiscally sponsored by Congregations Organized for Prophetic Engagement (COPE) and is a member of the Southern California Black Worker Hub for Regional Organizing (SoCalHub). The IEBWC plans to eventually spin off as an independent organization in the future.
