  • About Us

Athena Academy is a school for grade 1-8 dyslexic children in Palo Alto, CA. We are a nonprofit Silicon Valley startup that uses the latest neuroscience research from the University of California San Francisco and Stanford to change the teaching methods for dyslexic children. It is estimated that over 35% of the people in US prisons are dyslexic, and were likely told repeatedly that they were stupid failures. It doesn't have to be that way. We teach to the dyslexic strengths of the student and can transform these children who may have reading deficiencies, but typically excel at creativity, spatial thinking, and social emotional awareness. About 35% of our students are also gifted, and these students can use their dyslexic strengths to become entrepreneurs like Charles Schwab or Richard Branson, or effective leaders in the public sector like our California governor Gavin Newsom.
