About Us

The mission of CLUE-CA has been to build and support an alliance of interfaith groups throughout California with the goal of providing spiritual leadership for and organizing faith-rooted engagement in the movement for economic justice throughout California. Our mission is inspired by our recognition that every human being is uniquely precious and worthy of dignity. The vision we seek to achieve is a California with a moral economy – a California in which all workers earn a sustainable wage, labor in just working conditions, live with an assurance of racial and gender equality, have affordable access to quality health care, and enjoy a powerful voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

We work to realize our vision by organizing religious leaders and congregations of all faith traditions to support and empower low-wage workers in their struggles for dignity. Our primary mission partners are low-wage workers and the religious, labor and community organizations that support them.

CLUE-CA’s alliance consists of four founding affiliate organizations (in San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Clara and East/ San Francisco Bay Area) and several seed organizations in the process of development (Orange County, Inland Empire, and San Francisco). CLUE-CA also works with four small organizations in the Central Coast and Northern California and a network of faith leaders in the Central Valley.
