To work with high-risk pregnant women and new mothers to promote consistent prenatal care, foster positive parenting skills, and support them in planning a healthy future for themselves and their babies.
Volunteers are paired with clients in the Northern Virginia area in a one-on-one mentoring relationship. Area coordinators help volunteers with their clients.
Training is provided. The next training session is Saturday, March 11, 2006, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Falls Church Presbyterian Church, Falls Church, Va. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Spanish-speaking volunteers are especially needed.
The Naomi Project, a nonprofit organization, is a free, confidential, interfaith program sponsored by the Virginia Council of Churches.
