Center for Restorative Justice Works and the Family Express are in need of volunteers to assist in our weekly transportation program serving five prisons throughout the state of California. Our volunteer bus leaders provide hospitality service to each visit ensuring the comfort of the families we serve. Your main role would be to make sure everyone has a safe and pleasant trip. The main responsibilities are to check participants off the roster, provide bus supplies and work collaboratively with the CDCR visiting staff during check-in and to provide additional support in the visiting room with the families. We are currently in need bus leaders from the Sacramento, Bay Area, Redding/Chico, San Bernardino & San Diego. HBL's must be CPR certified and must be comfortable working with large groups, passionate about serving communities in crisis and professional about paperwork. This volunteer position is compensated with a base rate stipend between $200-$250 for a full days service. Family Express is a program contracted and funded by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, program guidelines and stipulations are set by this contract.
