    Boricua College is the first private four-year bilingual institution of higher education in the United States dedicated to educating Puerto Ricans and other Spanish-speaking people. The College opened its doors in 1974 to twenty-six students. It presently enrolls 1,200 students in Liberal Arts and seven other specialized academic programs leading to degrees in Associate in Arts, Bachelor of Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts and Master of Science. The college is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and has been granted an Absolute Charter by the New York State Board of Regents.
