About Us

The Civics Center is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that focuses on high school voter registration and civic engagement throughout the United States. More than 3.5 million high school students graduate from high school every year, and the vast majority are eligible to register to vote before they graduate. Yet no effective infrastructure exists to make sure that every eligible student receives an equal opportunity to register to vote in high school. As a result, registration rates for young people trail dramatically behind older Americans, and this situation has worsened with COVID-19.

The Civics Center seeks to address this challenge by promoting peer-to-peer high school voter registration drives, raising awareness of the opportunities for high school voter registration, and promoting policy reforms at the school, local, state, and national levels that will encourage youth civic engagement and voter registration.

The Civics Center is a project of its fiscal sponsor Community Partners, a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization. More information can be found at thecivicscenter.org.
