About Us

We provide a comprehensive approach to helping people maintain their health and well-being. We offer programming and support to keep them self-sufficient and their homes safe, while our educational programs heighten public awareness and promote understanding about the disease.

Our resources assist individuals, families and caregivers, regional support groups, and healthcare professionals. Access to our programs and services is available through our interactive web site or our national, toll-free helpline staffed by caring caseworkers and peer counselors. Our priority is to serve with empathy, resourcefulness and responsibility.

All services, as well as information, literature and subscriptions to our publications are provided free of charge. The PHPWV neither sells memberships nor requires participation in fund-raising activities by individuals or support groups.

The Cause is a service-based, non-profit organization. With national headquarters in Southern Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, the PHPWV serves the Appalachian from one central location. By eliminating the need for branch offices, we are able to maintain a more cost-effective and efficient operation while maintaining the highest quality service. Networking with independent, grassroots organizations gives us a local presence in communities around the nation.

Established in 2008,

The Organization is a publicly funded 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization. The cause follows established accounting procedures and is audited annually by an independent CPA firm. Financial information such as an annual IRS form 990, audited financial statements, and the 501(c)3 determination letter are accessible on the Financials (link) page. Funds raised by the cause go directly into services designed to improve the quality of life for people with MS.

To provide an objective resource for people with MS, this site contains no advertising of any kind. We gratefully acknowledge that the design of our website was partially funded by a grant from Bayer Healthcare, LLC; however, neither Bayer Healthcare nor any other funding source provided or approved content for the site. The PHPWV strives to present unbiased information.

Also help with The Appalachian region Families and Children live in poverty. Through the supporters, We help the Families and Children whose needs are greater than others The elderly and Elderly, Disabled and those who are affected by Disaster Relief.

Children and Their Families

Dedicated to serving the people of the Appalachian area by helping them to improve their lives by strengthening the family and the individual’s emotional /psychological /spiritual wellbeing. We believe that through family life education, enrichment and counseling, we can make life better for children as well as adults, and strengthen the family unit.

Elderly

Our goal is to assist with the needs of the elderly and to establish networks of professional interagency relationships that will sustain or rebuild the support systems necessary for worthwhile human living.

Disabled

Regardless of the disability, each person has the right to reach his/her full potential in the least restrictive environment. To support this belief, we will support them to become self-advocates. Center-based and in-home respite services are committed to providing periodic care to families and family members with disabilities for reasons of relief. We will seek to work in collaboration with other agencies and CAP programs in order to offer the most comprehensive services and choices to those we serve, fostering educational and recreational, and spiritual opportunities.

Disaster Relief

Weather is unpredictable and, as a result, storms can paralyze a geographic region in a matter of minutes. Disaster Relief program organizes volunteers to respond to the needs of those impacted.
