Fern Creek Elementary School

Fern Creek Elementary School Located in the heart of Colonialtown neighborhood and one of the oldest schools in Orlando. We are an “A” school and have been an “A” school for six of the past seven years. 100 of our students see a mentor one day a week for 30 – 45 minutes. Every student receives a back pack and school supplies for free at the beginning of the school year. Every student receives a school t-shirt for free. Every student in the school receives at least 3 books of their choice a year for free for their personal home library. We have extensive community involvement, a large mentoring as well as parent involvement. Our community partnerships include: AECOM, Rollins College, Sea World, Publix, Travelers, neighborhood associations, Winter Park Women’s Club, several churches, and various local businesses. We have a reading garden and several upgraded landscaped areas. We have a number of programs coming into our school including a Gift For Music (violin for every 3rd grade student and advanced violin for some 4th and 5th grade students). We average 150 people at our family nights (math and science). We provide over 250 snack packs to students for weekend meals, as well as house an on-campus clothing closet.
