About Us

El Taller Latino Americano, The Latin American Workshop, is a non-profit [501(c)(3)] arts and education organization that bridges the distance between Latin Americans and North Americans through the language of art and the art of language. El Taller is a gathering place of culturally and linguistically diverse people who come together to share their ideas and find creative inspiration. Through its education and arts programs, El Taller creates a bridge between North America and Latin America. We believe that fear and mistrust can be neutralized by cultural interaction and exchange.

Founded in 1979 by Argentinean composer, interpreter, translator, and Spanish teacher, Bernardo Palombo, El Taller Latino Americano is a multi-faceted cultural center that offers:

• Live world music concerts and recording facilities

• Inspired art exhibitions, classes, and workshops

• Collaborative creative projects and community outreach

• Movement and dance classes and performances

• Spanish classes for all levels

• Translation and interpretation services

Throughout its history, El Taller has been host to hundreds of world renowned and aspiring musicians who perform in our Workshop. Every month, the Grady Alexis Gallery features art that is inspired by Latin American themes, creating a colorful setting for all activities that take place at El Taller. El Taller is also committed to bringing its language and artistic programs into surrounding communities by teaching at other educational and artistic institutions.
