About Us
Self-Help International (SHI) works at grassroots level to improve quality of life and increase the income of rural people in Ghana and Nicaragua by introducing appropriate , sustainable agricultural methods. Founded in 1959 Self-Help's mission is to alleviate hunger. SHI's programs are designed to promote self-reliance with dignity and to create links between farmers and their communities. Self-Help educates Americans about hunger and poverty in relation to world peace.
