About Us

Organized in August 1988, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation (GNOSF) is a non-profit 501(c) (4) organization whose mission is to attract and manage sporting events that have a positive economic impact on the Greater New Orleans area. Since 1988, the GNOSF has turned a $25 Million investment, from public and private sources, into a $1 Billion Economic impact.

As New Orleans braces for an unprecedented run of hosting the world's greatest sporting events, the GNOSF is currently recruiting 8,000 volunteers to help manage the 2011 AAU Junior Olympic Games, the 2012 NCAA Men's Final Four, and Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.

Volunteers, not just the atheletes, are the force behind each event. Not a single event we host in New Orleans can be a success without the commitment of our outstanding volunteer force. If you are interested in volunteering for upcoming events, simply add yourself to the GNOSF volunteer database by clicking on the Volunteer Registration tab above. By entering out database, you will be kept up to date on all of our events.
