About Us

The mission of White-Williams Scholars is to support high academic achievement in Philadelphia public high school students from families with limited financial means in order to increase their opportunities for success in the future. The organization serves more than 1,400 students each year by providing stipends of $50 to $75 in return for Scholars maintaining A's and B's in their classes. White-Williams Scholars also provides school-based services for students, including peer group meetings and pre-college activities. The goal of our new initiative, the Back-on Track program, is to get these former A/B students back-on-track academically through one-on one tutoring. With the help of bright and committed volunteers and work-study college students, these high school students will have the academic support they so desperately need and desire.
